Global QA company benefits from ESOS.

IE provided full ESOS compliance for leading global QA company.

Introduction
ESOS is the mandatory energy assessment scheme for organisations in the UK, administered by the Environment Agency. The assessments must look at the energy used across an organisation’s buildings, processes and transport in order to identify energy saving opportunities.

IE works with a leading energy company to provide full energy management services, and through this, offered an ESOS solution to all their clients that fell into the scope for ESOS assessment.

Through this approach, IE offered a competitive solution for a leading global QA company to comply with ESOS in a way that also provided benefit for all.

What we did
We carried out a full service ESOS compliance including reviewing all energy data, identifying de-minimus areas (transport), undertaking all necessary site energy audits, providing all required reports, including the group report, and completing final signed off submission to the Environment Agency before the compliance deadline of 5th December.

IE undertook three site audits and one transport audit ranging from a major London head office building to smaller regional offices. Our findings identified £830,000 of recommended energy savings across the estate. This would deliver a 34% reduction in their energy costs and payback within 5.5 years.

The famous and iconic Head Office building is the figurehead, and by far the largest energy consumer of this estate. As much of the building is now tenanted out and the client’s space has been largely re-fitted, the audit quickly focused on the centralised systems and controls. By rapidly focusing on these items, major energy and cost saving recommendations were uncovered.
