Inspired Efficiency can now offer full M&V services

IE is now able to offer full Measurement and Verification (M&V) services for energy saving measures in accordance with the internationally respected IPMVP procedure.

“How much is this energy saving measure really saving me?” A question often in the mind of those who have just spent their hard-earned capital on the latest energy saving technology. The question sounds an easy one to answer but soon gets complex when one considered changing energy tariffs, weather, usage and other factors. Is it the energy saving measure or the warmer weather / less intense usage / that the old boiler failed and had to be replaced just after the energy saving was introduced, that is causing the saving?

The U.S. energy sector has grappled with these issues for a long time due to their well-developed ESCO sector, and they developed a very robust and transparent protocol called the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP). This provides a clear procedure and set of principles to measure an energy saving (which is measuring consumption which has not happened).

Matt Fulford at IE is now fully qualified as a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) and as such can provide fully adherent M&V plans and assessments to a full range of energy saving projects.

IPMVP is increasingly being demanded as the norm to prove energy saving on contracts ranging from RE:FIT to PFI schemes. If you have a need for professional M&V services, contact IE to discuss your requirements.
